Nursing Assistant / Personal Care Worker (Residential Aged Care)

Location: Alkira Lodge and Karingal Gardens, Taree & Banyula Lodge, Old Bar

Employment Status: Part Time & Casual

About the Role - What will you do? 

  • Provide appropriate clinical care to residents in accordance with their needs assessment and nursing care plan

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, such as, showering, dressing or other personally orientated tasks to facilitate a good quality of life for the residents

  • Ensure residents have the opportunity to make informed choices and decisions regarding their care and the services they receive 

  • Accurately document resident's current condition and care needs 

  • Maintain a clean and comfortable environment in the home

Basic Job Function

Maintains a clean, comfortable and homely environment for the residents and see that adequate attractive meals are served for them at correct temperatures.

To be one of an integrated team to ensure that the residents in the facility are as contented as possible. Refer any unusual observations or problems to the appropriate Supervisor.

Communicates in a respectful manner to residents.

Empathetic with elderly and/or disabled people and is able to be calm and understanding in any dealings with them.

Willing to let people in their care make as many decisions of their own as is possible and is respectful of the resident’s dignity and self-esteem.
